About Us

Sant Muktai Government College of Agriculture, Muktainagar was established on 02 September 2015 during the academic year 2015-16. The college was initially started with an intake capacity of 60 students per year for the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture degree programme. At the time of establishment, a sanctioned strength of 67 posts was approved, comprising 32 technical and 35 non-technical staff positions. The college was established under Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri, District Ahmednagar, as per Government Resolution No. MPKV/1415/Proposal No. 44/7A, dated 25/08/2015. Muktainagar is a small town situated near National Highway 53 in Jalgaon District, close to the northern border of the state of Maharashtra. It lies in the Khandesh region of North Maharashtra and is located approximately 62 km east of the district headquarters, Jalgaon. The land requirement for the college was fulfilled through the allocation of 40 hectares of land, of which 30.08 hectares are located in Hartala Shivar and 8.83 hectares in Manegaon Shivar of Muktainagar Tahsil, District Jalgaon. The campus provides adequate scope for academic, research, and extension activities in agriculture. The institution is committed to providing quality agricultural education, promoting research, and strengthening extension services for the benefit of students and the farming community.

I joined this esteemed institution as I/c Associate Dean in the year 2023, and since then have been striving consistently for the holistic development of students and the welfare of the farming community. Under the able guidance of the university authorities, we do not merely educate our students—we inspire and empower them to become innovators and leaders in agriculture. Our mission is to explore new frontiers in agricultural science, develop cutting-edge technologies, and emphasize quality education in agriculture and allied fields. Faculty members are regularly motivated to participate in trainings, workshops, seminars, and conferences at the state, national, and international levels to remain abreast of recent developments and to enrich the academic environment of the institution. Together, we aim to nurture competent professionals with strong ethical values who will serve agriculture and society with dedication and excellence.
